I Can't Make Everyone Happy...But Tacos Can!

by Shannon Comstock

Hola!! Get ready, because Cinco de Mayo is almost here! It's everyone's favorite excuse to eat a few extra tacos and upsize that mango marg!!

This awesome holiday is all about celebrating Mexican culture with tasty food, delicious drinks, and lots of dancing. So, gather your amigos and get ready to party like it's 1862 when the Mexican army defeated the French at the Battle of Puebla.

Fun Fact- You can look like a scholar over that quesadilla... The battle didn't end the
war, but it was a significant victory for Mexico and has since become a symbol of resilience for Mexico!

Another Fun Fact - I LOVE Mexico and scuba diving in Cozumel.

Speaking of tacos, I’m going to assume you love them! If not, we need to have a serious chat. You may consider one of these local spots!

1.  My personal favorite! Los Compadres - They have great tacos and margaritas at their locations in South Reno and Sparks.  If you go to the South Reno location, they have an outdoor patio.

2. My personal second favorite Mexican restaurant! - Miguel's  I absolutely love their midtown location.  It is also just a few doors down from my office.  The staff is so friendly, the food is great and the vibe is on point.  They also have another location at The Summit in South Reno.

3. Can you tell I love Mexican food?  Another great place is Chihuahua's Cantina & Grill in South Reno on Virginia St.  One of my favorite appetizers here, which is plenty as a meal, is the flautas.

4. If you're near Wells Ave, try Anna's Taqueria.  Try their all you can eat tacos and pair it with a michelada or a margarita and sit on their outdoor patio on a sunny day.

Whether you're into tacos, tequila, or just a good Mexican mariachi band, there's something for everyone
to enjoy.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!!
